GFCI

Hot tub GFCI  (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) breaker is a safety devices that comes in different versions and styles. Spa GFCI can prevent electrocution by detecting any leakage current that would not otherwise trip off a normal circuit breaker.  This is achieved by measuring the difference between the current flowing out of the live conductor and the current returning through the neutral conductor.

GFCI are necessary! They protect  people and equipment GFCI also provide protection against circuit overload and shorting.

Remember to consult  local electrical code for proper wire gauge; since this also depends on the length of the wire run.
